ABOUT TINASHE
I like solving problems with data and software.
I'm Tinashe Ashley Murapiro. I work on machine learning experiments, data retrieval, backend APIs, and web interfaces that make technical information easier to use.
MY APPROACH
How I approach the work
I treat a model as one part of a larger system. I look at the source and quality of the data, build an interface people can use, and test whether the result is useful.
The projects here cover financial research, electricity-demand forecasting, and developer tools. Each has a web interface and notes explaining the main technical choices.
I report the results the tests produce, even when they are not what I expected. In GridCast, a seasonal baseline outperformed ridge regression on the included holdout, and the project documents that result.
TOOLS USED
The tools behind the projects.
Python and scikit-learn
Feature engineering, chronological holdouts, ridge regression, error analysis and reproducible backtests.
PHP 8.2 and HTTP APIs
Validated inputs, rate-limit awareness, third-party service integration and stable JSON endpoints.
JavaScript and responsive UI
Interactive filters, client-side model evaluation, visualization and accessible multi-device interfaces.
Structured public records
SEC XBRL, U.S. electricity research datasets, GitHub pull requests, and auditable transformations.
